TC2000 Fin Fans
TC 2000 is an excellent environmentally safe product that makes thick sustaining foam, which cleans the oil laden dirt particles bonded on the fins and associated piping. The foam made with TC-2000 is an emulsion, with air as the internal phase and water containing powerful surfactants, hydrocarbon extractant and wetting agent as the external phase. This thick foam when applied to the fin fans greatly enhances the contact time between the powerful surfactants and wetting agent in TC-2000 and the fins’ surface area. This allows TC-2000 to penetrate into areas otherwise impossible to clean with the use of conventional methods, all while avoiding damage to the fragile fins. The powerful emulsifiers and wetting agents in TC-2000 effectively emulsify and loosen the bonded oil laden dirt particles from the fins and the associated pipes.
.
RECOMMENDED APPLICATION METHOD TC-2000 is applied as thick foam with the aid of a portable foam generating machine. This foam generating machine is employed to apply thick foam on the fin fan surfaces. The thick foam when applied to the fin fans greatly enhances the contact time between the powerful surfactants and wetting agent in TC- 2000 and the fins’ surface area, allowing TC-2000 to effectively emulsify and loosen the bonded oil laden particles from the fins and the associated pipes associated pipes. |
After thirty to forty five minutes the foam collapses and the fin fan exchangers are washed gently with low pressure water hose to rinse and wash away the bonded dirt particles from the fin fans, rendering fins and the associated piping clean. The improvement in heat transfer rate after TC-2000 wash is significant. The concentration of TC-2000 in water to make stable foam depends on the foam generating machine.Typical starting concentration of TC-2000 is approximately 20 oz/per gallon of water. The dosage can be adjusted upwards or downwards based on the consistency of the foam and type of machine used to generate the foam. |
TC4000 Online and heavies
TC-4000 is a custom, proprietary mixture of aromatic solvents and special surface-active agents for use as an additive in the decontamination of Thermal Crackers. It is specially designed to disperse asphaltene and dissolve heavy tar and high molecular weight hydrocarbons found in Thermal Crackers’ process equipment.
TC-4000 is most effective when used in conjunction with TC-5000 for decontamination of Thermal Cracker Units.
TC-4000 is added simultaneously with the flushing oil as part of the plant cool-down and thinning procedure. The special surface-active agents and solvents in TC-4000 effectively disperses asphaltene and augments the solvency of flushing oil in dissolving heavy tar and hydrocarbon resin found in Thermal Crackers. This combined action of TC-4000 greatly enhances the efficacy of TC-5000 in decontamination of Thermal Crackers.
MODE OF ACTION OF TC-4000:
Asphaltene Dispersion: The surface-active chemicals in TC-4000 adsorb to the asphaltene particles thereby, increasing and maintaining the dispersion of finely divided asphaltene particles in the solvent. The asphaltene particles are peptized by this adsorption process, forming a highly stable coll solution, which subsequently is efficiently emulsified by TC-5000 and transported out of the process vessels.
Increased Solvency of Flushing Oil: The increased solvency of flushing oil by addition of TC-4000 results in greater dissolution of heavy, semi-solid and solid state hydrocarbons in the liquid state. This phenomenon frees the coke and inorganic particles embedded in the heavy hydrocarbons allowing for much-improved decontamination of process vessels in Thermal Cracker Units.
.
RECOMMENDED USE Plant operation, maintenance reliability, and economics of high molecular weight refinery process units can be greatly improved by the use of TC-4000, a TerraChem proprietary specialty formulation. TC-4000 allows oil refineries to decontaminate heavily fouled process units. Typical use concentration of TC-4000 is 3% to 4.0% in flushing oil. This mixture of flushing oil and TC 4000 is circulated in a closed loop through the plant’s process vessels for a pre-determined period of time. Subsequently, TC-5000 concentration of 2% to 3% is added to this mixture along with water and circulated in a closed loop. |
Upon completion of the process, Visbreaker and PDA units have significantly less heavy tar and solids, thereby greatly facilitating and expediting the mechanical work. For further details, contact TerraChem at www.terrachem.net Physical Properties Color: Slightly Pale |
TC5000 - Refinery
TC 5000 is an environmentally safe, biodegradable blend of surface-active chemicals in a naturally occurring solvent. The anionic and nonionic surfactants and the solvent in TC 5000 is exceptionally effective in removing heavy as well as light end hydrocarbons such as Benzene from the process vessels in the refinery and the petro-chemical plants. The surface-active materials in TC-5000 are blend of biodegradable anionic and nonionic surfactants. The solvent in TC-5000 is a biodegradable solvent occurring in nature with a pleasant citrus aroma and replaces effectively the old toxic solvents such as chlorinated solvents, freon, glycol ethers, xylene, toluene etc.
.
RECOMMENDED USE The flexibility and economics of petrochemical plant and refinery can be greatly improved by the use of TC 5000. Typical use concentration of TC 5000 is 1 to 2% in water. This aqueous solution of TC 5000 is circulated in a closed loop through the plant process vessels at 180o to 190o F for 6 to 12 hours. After 6- 12 hours of circulation, the solution is pumped to a pre-determined site, the process vessels are then rinsed with fresh water. Upon opening, the process vessels are typically found to be in considerably improved condition with LEL approaching zero percent and Benzene approaching zero ppm. TC6000 - Olefins
TC 6000 is an exceptional decontamination and degassing product for process equipments in petrochemical plants. TC –6000 effectively transports out not only heavy tar and cyclic hydrocarbons but also light hydrocarbons such as benzene found in the petrochemical process vessels such as Quench Settler, Quench Tower and associated piping and heat exchangers.
The surfactants in TC-6000 form a highly stable water external emulsion, which facilitates the removal of heavy tar from the petrochemical plant process vessels. TC-6000 is environmentally friendly and biodegradable.

RECOMMENDED USE The flexibility and economics of petrochemical plant can be greatly improved by the use of TC 6000. TC- 6000 typically reduces Quench Settler and Quench Tower decontamination time by 80.0% compared to manual decontamination method. Typical use concentration of TC 6000 for decontamination is 1 to 2% in water. This aqueous solution of TC 6000 is circulated in a closed loop through the plant process vessels at 180o to 190o F for 8 to 12 hours.
